Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?
Although I do not have direct studio-style work experience yet, I have worked on a couple of external projects with studios outside of Escape and done commission work outside of project work, which has given me invaluable experience in working with/for an outside party.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
In the project, AFK, my role was as 2D Lead. As we had a large amount of shots which needed organising and chasing up during the project, my schedule was very busy right from the start. I helped wrangle all of the 2D artists to get their shots in on time; helped answer questions and helped others when stuck; while also working on my own prep, cleanup and comp shots.
What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?
I specialised in cleanup as I felt it was the best pathway into my dream senior job in the industry, in CG integration.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
Prep and Cleanup
Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?
I'm most proud of Kuru as it's the role I found I was most challenged in, in the integration of the worm, but I was able to create a very believable and impressive comp in the end.
What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?
The first Pacific Rim film really put into perspective for me the depth that CG comp could bring to a film, and that made me want to beeline to 2D from my previous thoughts of becoming a 3D artist.
