Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?
Even though I have no experience in the industry, I attended different events where I learned from people who work in it and gained a good understanding of their expectations of me.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
In the project "AFK" I was mainly the character modeller of the character "Fire", where I followed a concept that was done by one of my team members, but I did more alongside this like texturing, layouts, lighting, look dev, and rendering.
What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?
I specialise in character modelling/sculpting and I love to do every stage of it, from concept art to look dev, I do all of them. There's no specific reason why I choose this specialism more than just loving it, I always found remarkable the impact of a great character on a movie/series and I love the fact of being able to create something like that, the more rare and unique the better.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
I would love a first role where I get the chance to learn from someone in my area but also in a place where I have my responsibilities and people trust me to deliver them even through my little experience.
Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?
Probably both of my specialisms, but especially my second specialism where I did an orc. The reason why is because I was able to have full input on every single thing of them and they were where I learnt the most as I was on my own. I also enjoyed a lot working on group projects as I was able to learn more from other perspectives of the job that are not software-related.
What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?
Probably Avatar, for years I always found it impressive, but even more when I understood the amount of effort that is behind it.
