SHOWREEL

GET TO KNOW LUCIE

Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?

Although I havent gotten any dierct experience within the pipeline of the industry yet, I have gotten in contact with people who are currently within the industry and gotten some words of advice and a view into their daily tasks, which has provided me with a good idea of the expectations and requiremnts I may face once entering the industry

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

In the project, 'Socks to be You', my role was 3D animator. Due to trying to animate a what was basically a sock puppet and make it look realistic, we all worked together making tests of how it could possibly move, so I spent a few days running through iterations of how it could 'walk' and 'run' along with the rest of my team. We moved between the sock moving like a caterpillar, shuffling, or more of a lurching motion where it sort of hopped around. I also worked on the previs, helping to show our ideas and bringing the initial plans to life

What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?

I chose to specialise in character animation. I chose this because I find the most enjoyment when I'm slowly bringing a character to life, the motionless rig suddenly having a personality, reacting to whatever situation it's in, making a storyline come to life. I really enjoy that.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

My ideal first role in the industry would be a junior animator for a tv series, preferably.

Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?

I'm most proud of my second year group project, 'Little Pirates', just because of the artistry of it all. I loved how it turned out, the lighting and background looked beautiful, and I really enjoyed the director I worked with, she had a clear vision and she made it come to life, which made me proud to have been a part of it.

What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?

Spiderman into the Spiderverse' made me really excited about the trajectory of the industry, it's just really inspiring to see the way everything is evolving in real time, and knowing soon we'll be a part of it. I'm also looking forward to what's next and how I can contribute to the growth of the industry.
