GET TO KNOW TOBI
Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?
Whilst I haven't had any direct experience working within the industry, I have attended workshops, seminars and talks from members of the industry which have provided a good understanding of what would be required of me upon entering the industry.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
I contributed significantly to the group project, particularly during production. As a co-director, I took on various responsibilities - from planning and overseeing animation and VFX progress, to supporting the team behind the scenes and ensuring everything stayed on track. I also played an active role in the creative process by designing the character concepts, helping with choreography, and researching and providing fight references for animation. While I wasn't always the loudest voice in the room, I made sure to offer input and support where I could.
What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?
CHARACTER ANIMATION
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
3D ANIMATOR
Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?
"Order Up!" is the project I'm most proud of. It was one of the most ambitious group projects I worked on, and I was lucky to be surrounded by such a talented and supportive team. The chemistry between us was great - it never felt like there were too many voices clashing, just everyone working together toward the same goal. Of course, there were challenges (like with any project), but I truly felt valued throughout. There were no major conflicts, just a shared love for the work.Honestly, it felt a bit like working at Disney.
What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?
Midnight gospel
