GET TO KNOW CHRISTOPHER

Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?

While I haven’t yet worked directly within the games industry, I’ve taken part in numerous workshops, seminars, and industry talks that have given me a solid understanding of professional pipelines and expectations. Alongside my studies, I also have hands-on experience in the film and livestreaming industries, which has helped me develop strong production awareness, teamwork, and creative problem-solving skills — all of which I bring into my game art work.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

In Team Hullbreaker, I contributed as one of the prop modellers. I created and textured several sci-fi themed assets used throughout the game, working closely with the rest of the team to make sure they fit the overall style and functioned well in Unreal Engine 5. I was a reliable team member and consistently delivered game-ready assets that helped bring the environment to life.

What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?

I specialise in vehicle and prop modelling, with a strong interest in military aircraft. I was initially hesitant to try vehicle modelling, but during my third-year specialism, I challenged myself and created one of my favourite and most successful pieces. That project boosted my confidence and confirmed my passion for this area of 3D art.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

Vehicle/Prop Artist

Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?

My 3rd year Specialism was on a MQ-9 Reaper Drone. In that project, I had challenged myself to make a model using lots of curves and smoother topology as well as keeping the topology as efficient and tidy as possible. At the end of the project, I had successfully created a model that I was proud of and which showcased the passion I have for both modelling and vehicles.

What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?

The game War Thunder played a major role in shaping my career goals after university. It sparked my passion for creating detailed vehicle models and showed me the impact they can have on a game and its community. My interest in aircraft—particularly from World War II onward—grew from playing the game, ultimately inspiring me to pursue a role as a vehicle artist.
