Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?

I may not have direct experience in the games industry yet, but I am ready for when the time comes, whether it’s problem-solving, teamwork, or creativity. I have honed many of the required skills by attending seminars and conferences and receiving industry feedback. My passions lie in creating beautiful art pieces; I am eager to bring that beauty into the industry.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

In my current group project, The Shutter’s Eye—our final year Megascans project—I’ve really enjoyed taking on more of a leadership role. In past projects, I focused mainly on foliage art, but this time I found myself naturally stepping into a position where I could contribute in broader ways. I took on responsibilities like set dressing, helping to shape ideas and find creative solutions, and managing schedules to keep everything on track. I also took care of general project cleanup to make sure everything stayed organised and cohesive. It was a great experience that showed me how much I enjoy guiding a team and contributing to the overall vision beyond just my specialised area.

What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?

I specialise in foliage and landscape art, which I’ve always been passionate about. Growing up surrounded by nature, I sincerely appreciated how beautiful and immersive foliage can make a scene in any video game, similar to real life. I love how the details in plants, trees, and landscapes can add life and atmosphere to any environment, and I thrive on creating visuals that evoke that same connection to nature.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

My ideal first role in the industry would be as a foliage or landscape artist. I'm passionate about creating natural environments and love how plants and landscapes can bring a scene to life. I'm also interested in the role of "biome artist". I understand that's a more advanced role, so I'd love to start building my skills and experience as a foliage or landscape artist to work on more complex biome projects as I grow.

Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?

One of the student projects I’m most proud of is my second-year specialism. It was something I had always wanted to do, but for a long time, I didn’t think I was capable of pulling it off. Being able to put my mind to it and create something I once thought was out of reach made me really proud of myself. It wasn’t just about the final result—it was also a big learning experience. I picked up so many new skills and learned a lot about myself in the process, especially about what I can achieve when I fully commit to something.

What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?

A piece of media that changed the way I think about my discipline is Elden Ring. While there have been many beautiful games before it, Elden Ring stood out to me in a way that felt different. The world it presents is so vast, detailed, and atmospheric—it truly felt like stepping into a living, breathing universe. Experiencing that level of immersion and artistry sparked something in me. It awakened a deep desire to one day be part of creating similarly rich and beautiful worlds. It showed me the emotional and creative impact that strong visual storytelling and world-building can have, and it redefined what I aspired to do creatively.
