Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?
I haven't yet attended any events or had much contact with people in the industry during my time studying, however, I am interested in changing that and broadening my contacts now that my portfolio is more filled out.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
As a tech artist focusing more on gameplay elements and in-game effects, I feel as if my contribution helps to make levels more interactive and enjoyable for the player.
What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?
I specialise in technical art, mostly using blueprints. I found myself drawn to blueprints during one of our first projects and have found it very enjoyable to create code that works effectively and efficiently.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
Junior Technical Artist
Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?
I would have to say I am most proud of my laser mechanic on my current team project "Empyrean" however I feel I have not yet created something I can say I am very proud of as I know I can do so much better.
What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?
The game Prismatica by PrismaticaDev on YouTube blew me away with how interactive and detailed a world can be and made the game world feel so much more alive, I would love to try to implement this type of feel in everything I work on when possible.
