GET TO KNOW DILHAN

Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?

I do not currently have work experience working in the games industry, but I have attended talks where I have furthered my knowledge of the workflow and expectations within the industry.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

In my group projects, I primarily focus on gameplay mechanics and UI. I also typically take the role of a 'Producer' spending a lot of time communicating with the team and organising meetings to keep to schedule.

What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?

I specialise in UI design. Growing up I've always enjoyed making art and while I've spent a couple of years programming game prototypes with various scripting languages, I eventually grew to enjoy pairing my skills in art and game development to branch out into UI design.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

UI/UX Designer

Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?

The Stalker VR project was my favourite because I managed to make a working in-game smartphone for the player to use that not only is an interactable asset, but it doubles as the menu for the game since VR games don't really have a menu. Being able to download an app from the app store and use the ghost detector was by far my favourite accomplishment.

What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?

A piece of media that has really influenced my choice of career path is Squid Games the TV show.
