Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?
I haven’t had any experience in terms of working directly within the industry, but I have been to a few talks, events, and online discussions that are relevant to my preferred role.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
I was a prop artist and very much enjoyed creating my models, I felt that my team was extremely accommodating and friendly, and I liked to work with other like-minded people. We always had a solid idea of what we had to put out, and I feel we all followed our brief and what was expected of us thoroughly.
What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?
I specialise in 3D props, I chose this as I’ve always been one to notice how much depth even the smallest of props in games can have, so I wanted to become someone who could also create a narrative through models. I really enjoy clutter-based props.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
Anything really, I’d be happy to learn and grow my skills where needed as I feel someone who is flexible will benefit others and themselves more.
Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?
Probably the most recent team project as I feel my team environment was super friendly and everyone was kind to one another. I feel like as an artist I really started to develop and could follow an art style more accurately.
What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?
This is quite random but probably Peanuts. I have a real love for Snoopy and I like that the overall theme of enjoying life, being under the belief that things will always get better no matter how hard things may be.
