Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?
I have not had any direct experience within the industry but I have attended a multitude of events to attempt to connect with individuals to connect with people in the industry within Linkedin and other online forums.
How would you describe your contribution to your group project?
In the project "Empyrean" I was in charge of a selection of props and dabbled in environment work. The projects main style inspiration was Assassins Creed Odyssey but we were limited in other games that were set within Greece, but the main look we attempted to achieve was realism.
What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?
I specialise within hard surface modelling, and the reason I decided to choose that was the idea of creating large scale assets that have a certain wow factor to them, such as large robots and so on. But as I got more and more comfortable with my hard surface skills, the small things with their particular details also became a great enjoyment to me.
What would your ideal first role in the industry be?
Hard Surface Modeller
Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?
My specialism, since it was the first time that I had actually attempted to push myself out of my comfort zone but still had an achievable goal. Even after some hardware issues, I was still able to achieve a great result through that headache without having to request any sort of extension on my time.
What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?
I think Pacific Rim had quite an effect on me because of those large scale robotic mechs, since the movement and details within those mechs are incredibly inspiring.
