GET TO KNOW EDITH

Can you describe the extent of any relevant work experience you might have?

While I haven't had direct experience working within the industry, I have done extensive research from industry professionals and viewed their techniques and pipelines, I am confident that I am well prepared for entering the industry.

How would you describe your contribution to your group project?

In the project Shutters Eye, I created and designed the modular kit for the interior of the main player building, which included the main room, the corridor outside the room as well as the staircase area. As we were going for a brutalist look, it simplified the design of the communal spaces, which meant I could focus more on the interior room.

What do you specialise in and what made you choose that specialism?

I specialise as an Environment Artist, as I found that watching a scene and environment come together from the hard work of other members of the team and meshing well together with the work I created was very satisfying and fulfilling for me.

What would your ideal first role in the industry be?

I would ideally work as an Environment Artist, potentially moving into clothing creation for characters once I feel more grounded in the industry.

Which of your student projects are you most proud of, and why?

I am most proud of my 3rd year specialism, as it focused mainly on my sculpting and texturing skills.

What’s a piece of media (film, game, animation) that changed the way you think about your discipline?

It Takes Two/Split Fiction. While I specialise in realism, I really appreciate how the style and environment shape how the players interact with each other as characters and how to use the environment to move the player path forward, all while giving them direction and excellent visuals.
